We all love vintage images and accessories, and America has long had a love affair with vintage references. Vintage clothes, accessories, cars, images -- you name it -- especially from the Edwardian period through the post-war period (mainly, the late 1800s through the early 1950s)....Edwardian, Victorian, Steampunk, Art Nouveau, Art Deco, the Roaring Twenties, etc. Virtually every image we see from these periods paints a nostalgic picture of America. And the mass of these images tends to bring us to the conclusion that America's past only had one complexion.
I love all that memorabilia too. But I am a cinnamon girl who believes most folks who love all things retro and Victorian would welcome a fuller, more colorful and authentic picture of America's past. The hidden figures, and I daresay, hidden treasures, of our history.
